Each time I write a post, I wonder as I hit “send”, who will be reading it. One never knows. My hope is always that the words written here will bring encouragement. Because really, one of my favorite things to do is encourage.
I find it fulfilling…sitting across the table from a dear one, sharing a cup of creamer-laden coffee and listening to what stirs her heart. And it’s okay if the conversation turns deep because I know Jesus is sitting with us and sometimes, the best encouragement is to simply nod your head and whisper bravely, “Me too.” And when we leave each other’s presence, she takes comfort knowing she is understood.
I’d like to tell you about an opportunity outside the blog where you can connect with other women who have the same interests, hobbies, jobs, or similarities in family situations as you do. A place where you can meet online in a private group setting and mingle with women who say, “What? You too?”
(in)courage is a ministry of Day Spring (you’ve bought their cards), the Christian subsidiary of Hallmark. It’s an online community gathering of small groups (limited to 30) via Facebook. A relaxed place to “meet” ~ like a coffee shop or a beach house and always a place where you can both give and receive encouragement.
Why am I telling you about (in)courage? Because I have been both privileged and blessed beyond measure to lead a group called (in)couraging Moms of Prodigals. And it has been one of the most rewarding ministries I have ever participated in. Not because every prayer has been answered, but because I consider myself friends with some of the most amazing, resilient, strong, prayerful women a gal could have.
